PhD position in Extremal and Probabilistic Combinatorics at Umeå University, Sweden
I am sharing the following message received by email. The application deadline is March 11, 2022. I am advertising a PhD position in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, see the link below: https://umu.varbi.com/en/what:job/jobID:467679/ . I would be most grateful if you could forward this link to any master’s students of yours at KAIST who may be interested. Our combinatorics group has been rather fortunate in recruitment of late — Klas Markström and I have been joined by Maryam Sharifzadeh, Klara Stokes and István Tomon in the past two years — so we can hopefully offer an attractive environment for a PhD student (as well as fun research problems).

Postdoc in Discrete Math at Illinois Tech
I’m sharing a message from Hemanshu Kaul at Illinois Tech. We are hiring a postdoc in Discrete Math at IIT (Illinois Tech) to start in Fall 2022. It is a one year position followed by one year extension subject to performance review and funding. In the past every such position has been extended for the second year. We are interested in candidates with broad research interests in discrete mathematics and its applications. In particular, we are interested in all aspects of graph theory: extremal, enumerative, topological, and spectral; and algorithms and models in network and discrete optimization. Connections to machine learning, graph neural nets, and related computational fields are a plus.

Hong Liu is moving to IBS as a Chief Investigator to start the IBS Extremal Combinatorics and Probability Group (ECOPRO) on April 2022 and is hiring up to 5 postdocs (Application Deadline: January 14, 2022)
News: The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Korea is expanding further into discrete mathematics by establishing a new “IBS Extremal Combinatorics and Probability Group (ECOPRO)” led by Hong Liu from the University of Warwick, UK on April 2022. This new group will also be located in the IBS headquarter and is expected to work closely with the IBS Discrete Mathematics Group (DIMAG). The IBS Extremal Combinatorics and Probability Group posted the hiring announcement for up to 5 postdocs. The application due is on January 14, 2022.
